Service for authors
Templates
Document templates assist authors in producing their work and ensure that standards are maintained. They also ensure the long-term retrievability of electronic publications. Templates for the Microsoft Word, Open Office and StarOffice word processing systems and for TeX-based formats have been developed as part of the DissOnline Tutor project.
A template developed at the Humboldt University in Berlin can be used to generate a thesis in MS Word. The are two possible installation methods:
- Installation program of the template for all Windows users (runnable exe file)
- Template for manual installation (dot file)
The following information is also available:
- Description of template with exercises (PDF file available only in German)
- Sample exercise text (Word file)
A template download is provided for creating a dissertation in LaTeX. It has been developed at Duisburg University. Instructions and further information can be found in the brochure PDF file (available only in German).
The supplementary "kvoptions.sty" and "substr.sty" packages are needed to have the template compiled for LaTeX. Both packages are available on the CTAN server. The former is held in the kvoptions.dtx archive and first needs to be unpacked using LaTeX (instructions for this are to be found in the kvoptions.pdf file, also available on CTAN). The "substr.sty" can also be downloaded from the CTAN server using this link.
